February Newsletter

Greetings to all Scouts and Scouters! February is going to be a great month for scouting within the Texoma Valley District. Wednesday, February 8th is the anniversary of the found of the Boy Scouts of America. What a great movement! Take time and reflect the story of the Boy Scouts of America with your respective units.

Many thanks to all the unit leaders and distric committee members for their assistance with the chartering of our units and the district. We still have a few units that have not completed their charter. If you are one of those units, please contact District Commissioner, Dale Anderson and his staff of Unit Commissioners for assistance.

A special thanks to Jaymye Allen, Connie Decker, Wade Grqaves, and Rick Redd for their leadership of the Texoma Valley Recognition Reception. The Class of 2016 Eagle Scouts  were honored by the First United Bank of Denison and the sons of the American Revolution. Also, several awards were presented to our outstanding unit leaders and volunteers.

All units should make it a point to attend the February District Roundtable to gather valuable information about Merit Badge College, Scouting for Food, 2017 Camp Card Kickoff, Pinewood Derby, training and coming district and council events. Scouting for food bags and fliers will be available and ready for pickup at roundtable. This is your time to interact with other district units and share your scouting experiences and ideas with others. See you at Round Table!
