APRIL 2017 TEXOMA VALLEY DISTRICT NEWSLETTER

APRIL 2017 TEXOMA VALLEY DISTRICT NEWSLETTER

Texoma Valley ended March and started April with a great Mountain Man District Camporee at the beautiful Camp James Ray. The Scouts and Scouters of Texoma Valley had a mountain top experience at the camporee, which was coordinated by Dena Murphy and her staff. Thank you for a great experience.

In addition, the Texoma Valley District Pinewood Derby was a great success under the leadership of Kim Moritz and his staff. The race day experience was fun and exciting not only for the Cub Scouts, but also the parents that entered the open class of the derby. Hope to see everyone at the track next year with more entries and faster cars. Until next year, be safe!

Would like to welcome Josh Velten and Joey Crawley to the Texoma Valley District Committee. Both Josh and Joey have completed National Camp School and they will take over the leadership of the Texoma Valley District Twilight Camp. Josh will be the Camp Director and Joey will be the Program Director. Look for an exciting Twilight Camp which will be held a Loy Lake Park on June 5 – 9, 2017. More details with regards to Twilight Camp will be shared at the April 2017 Texoma Valley Roundtable. Every Cub Scout Pack should have cubs attending Twilight Camp for a great kick off for your packs Summer Time program!

Also, every unit within Texoma Valley should have already planned to attend Twilight Camp, Webelos Residence Camp and Summer Camp. A unit that has a yearly plan, advances and goes to camp will have a successful program. Do not delay to attend a camp. It is not too late, get registered for camp!

The Texoma Valley Cub Family Campout will be April 28 - 30, 2017 at the beautiful Camp James Ray. This is a great opportunity for all Cub Scouts and their families to have a camping experience. This weekend will be filled with fun, great campfire cooked meals, games, skills, fellowship, cracker barrel and a fun packed campfire program. Get out your camping gear, pack your pack and get prepared for a fun filled weekend at camp with the family. See you on the trail!
